Who We Are

Task Force Valor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) service members, veterans, and their families. Founded in April 2025 by retired USSOF and members of the community.

Service to Country

SOF are the most highly trained and deployed force in the US Military. Our Nation calls on them more so than any other force due to the intensive selection and specialized training they receive. They are continuously deployed on high risk missions globally and have done so since their inception.

SOF comprises only 3% of Department of Defense personnel, yet operates in up to 80 countries daily, executing the Nation’s most difficult and highly sensitive missions. SOF has the most combat deployments since 9/11 and has engaged in the most combat.  SOF also has the highest deployment rate, serving and meeting our Nation’s needs.

The Cost

Continuous exposure to high risk situations, frequent and lengthy deployments, chronic trauma/stress, and extreme demands of the lifestyle have all led to significant impact on not only the individual, but the family.

The unique challenges of SOF life are clear:

  • 75% of post-9/11 veterans report mental health symptoms, yet only 14% have received treatment.

  • SOF operators experience a 40% higher divorce rate than the rest of the military.

  • SOF suicide rates are approximately 30% higher than the military average.

These realities highlight the urgent need for safe, restorative spaces where SOF members and families can recover and reconnect.

Our Mission

We aim to help our military’s most elite warfighters by providing outdoor/wilderness programs. SOF active duty, separated, retired Veterans and family members can decompress from their challenges, reconnect with nature, and strengthen mental health and wellness. Through immersive outdoor experiences, we hope to foster camaraderie and resilience, enabling families to heal, forge lasting bonds and stay upstream on mental health challenges.
