Family Friendly Adventure

Task Force Valor hosts custom multi-day programs based on the special considerations and needs of our participants. Current programs are located in the mountains of Idaho, filled with adventurous outdoor activities. Summer activities include white-water rafting, hiking, hunting, fishing, fly fishing, horseback riding, and ATV/UTVing. Winter activities include downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and Nordic Skiing. There is an additional program in Molokai, Hawaii for hunting, fishing, snorkling and hiking.

Desired Effects

Reduced Mental Health Symptoms: Studies suggest that spending time in nature can promote healthy coping strategies to decrease symptoms of mental illness.

Reduced Stress and Anxiety: Nature exposure can help alleviate anxiety, depression, and hyper-arousal; symptoms common in PTSD, by providing a sense of security and tranquility. 

Increased Social Connection: Group outdoor activities can foster social and familial connections and a sense of peer support/community support, which can be beneficial for individuals struggling with mental health.

Physical and Mental Well-being:  Engaging in outdoor activities can promote physical well-being and  increase energy releasing endorphins that improve mood and reduce stress.
